Meet Carl Varney

Carl Varney

Carl started working for Brandywine almost five years ago. Before that he had a few interesting jobs, working at the Gangplank Marina doing maintenance and clean-up, sometimes helping in their restaurant, and as an Assistant Manager and Security/Bouncer at the RSVP Club in Washington, DC where Carl grew up. He relayed a funny story of when he was checking a patron for knives or firearms, he refused entry to one man who was carrying a pistol and he turned out to be an undercover police officer. The owner thanked Carl for doing his job the way he was told. Carl moved his Mom and son Donta to Waldorf almost 13 years ago to get away from the DC violence. A neighbor of his told him about an opening at Foreign Car Parts so he applied and got the job! A year or so later he was moved to Brandywine Auto and we’re so glad to have him. Carl is one of the hardest workers around and will do anything for anybody. When not working at Brandywine he likes to garden and landscape, watch sports on TV and is one BIG Washington Redskin fan. When asked what he likes the most about working at Brandywine, he said ‘EVERYTHING’. We’re so glad you joined us Carl!
