Training Day at Brandywine

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

Every few months we get a request from the Prince George’s Fire Department to use our facility for training. Shown below are Aaron, John and Collins from PGFD using a car for jaws of life training. They are specifically trained on what and where to cut depending on where the vehicle’s impact point is and as we all know time is critical when trying to save a life. These guys are truly amazing!

Team Brandywine is Now Underway

Some of you saw on your paychecks Friday April 6th the announcement about the formation of a walking/running club for charity and Brandywine has graciously agreed to sponsor the team with contributions to the charities we walk for. Our first one is Saturday, April 14th for the “Walk MS” walk. There are other walks for charity that we are planning on, such as Juvenile Diabetes, the March of Dimes, and the Kidney Foundation walk. Please call Dawn Norris or Judy McFaden at 301-372-1000 if you are interested in joining. Not only will we be doing something good for a cause, but we will be getting FIT!!

Congratulations to Stephen Meinhardt Jr. and his beautiful new bride Brittany. The nuptials took place on the island of Jamaica and was definitely a family affair! We hope you’ll have many happy years together!

As you may or may not know, Brandywine Auto Parts has launched a web-store on Ebay (you can get to it from a link on our website or go to Ebay and click on “stores”). A customer took the time to write to us and here’s what he said….we certainly do appreciate the business!!

Dear brandywineap,

Thanks for you desire to save some of these old car parts and not crush them. With metal prices at what they are now it is a lot easier and profitable to just crush them. My car is a 1977 Pontiac SJ with a landau roof that has been in my basement for the last 13 years. I spent every saturday last year working on it and took it to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Florida. It just needs a few better parts to suit me. My door hinges sagged over the years and have scrubbed those parts and would like to get some better ones if I can find them. Another part that is bothering me is the SJ emblem for the hood had been stolen when the was just a few years old. This is the car we brought our kids home from the hospital and would like to hold onto it as long as I can, because we bought it brand new too. Thanks again and I’ll look at those other parts and if you have a Pontiac like mine in you yard just let me know.

Thanks again for all you help.

Congratulations to Danny Howe and his wife on the birth of their daughter Sofie Kathryn on March 26th, everyone is doing well and big brother thinks she is great!

Get well wishes to John Bayer (“JB”) of our delivery department and his wife Debbie, who were in a severe car accident on April 2nd. Hurry back JB!

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Thomas Reilly of Bowie Truck and Van on the passing of his wife Lisa. She will certainly be missed at the Waldorf Farmers Market where she and Thomas frequented on Saturdays. Thomas sold his custom made dollhouses and Lisa her handmade baskets.
